Kylie went to a birthday party this past Saturday. And the best part was riding the pony Sally! So forget the cake and ice cream, the pinata and all the goodies. She'd take a pony ride ANYDAY!

YES! This is what Kylie wanted to be for Halloween. A SCARY ghost...NOT a nice one. So I guess Momma got off easy in the costume department :-) She said next year she wants to be a Bat....Ummmmm I don't think so! Momma doesn't know how to make a Bat costume.

Kylie got all new accessories for her bike. A Basket, a bell AND a ringy dingy thingy (bring bring), tassels and knee/elbow pads (so we can practice with no training wheels).

She thinks HER bike is the coolest bike EVER! And she even commented this when we were at a friend's birthday party yesterday and she got a new bike and Kylie told me "my bike's cooler Momma!"

Oh and add the flag from when the lawn guy came and fertilized our yard and it's complete!

Dear Pookie

This is for you.....

Dear Pookie,
I am writing you this letter so when you are old enough to read AND understand it you will. I am going to keep track of how many nights you come into our room between the hours of 12-2AM and say "I'm not sleepy Momma" so when you are a teenager I can remind you of this fact as you sleep your days away! As I lay in bed with you last night after 3 songs and you kicking me AND snoring I remind myself that it was YOU who came in and said "I'm not sleepy Momma". I think you are "waking" up and just in a bad habit of coming in to get us. I say "waking" because you SEEM to be but then I find out the next morning you don't even remember the whole incident GRRRRR! Now don't get me wrong I LOVE YOU but geesh Momma's need their sleep too. So when you read this remember when you are a teenager I just "might" do this to you too. AKA remind you "Kylie you're NOT sleepy".......

Ok, So here I go. I was tagged by Dusty and now I need to post 7 random things about myself.
1. I am 5'10 1/2" tall. NOT 6' as my mother might tell you. And my hubby Mark is 6'5". So we call ourselves "mutants" in a very Loving way :-)
2. I travelled to Germany, France, Thailand and Hong Kong in High School. Now I have the travelling bug but not as much fun when you don't have mom and dad paying for it!
3. I drive a Red Dodge Durango. My first SUV. I LOVE it! We got it right after we got home from China (2004). We needed more room and Mark already drives a pick up and I was tired of always bending over in my Maxima.
4. I met my husband thru his mom (my 7th grade English teacher). She told me he was tall (a big plus) and had a good personality! Somethings only a mother would say :-) We've been married 11 years.
5. My parents have been married 44 years and I'm so proud of that fact!!!
6. My dream vacation would be to go to Bali/Fiji (I'm not too picky which) and stay in one of those huts over the ocean.
7. I HATE thunder storms. Was not a good thing when I live in tornado alley in Oklahoma. Eeeeeek!

Daddy:"No, Kylie I think you're growing so it just seems to be getting lower as you grow taller."
Kylie:"NOOOO Daddy I'm serious it IS getting lower!"

Kylie likes to get in bed with us in the morning and snuggle and watch cartoons. Well the other morning she was being a bit squirmy so Daddy said "Hmmmm, where did this foot come from that is kicking my legs?"
Reply "Daddy, it's attached to my leg Silly!"

Reflections on Kylie's Birth family.....

I type this and reflect on our Kylie turning 5 yesterday but today the day after is always a bit bittersweet for me. It is the day we were told she was abandoned at the SWI. I am always a bit sad today as I think of her birthmother and family in China making the heart wrenching decision to abandoned our beautiful daughter at the gates of the SWI. Birthdays are suppose to be celebratory but I always reflect on the day after more then on her BIRTHday......Can we even imagine what our Dear daughter's China families went thru to give us our beautiful children? I will always be SO grateful to have been given such a beautiful little girl for whose birthparents brought her into this world so that her Momma and Daddy in Montana could love her and make her the person she is suppose to be.

(Well we're at least trying as hard as we can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Oh well just typing out loud here.

Way too much time thinking on my couch I guess.

Off to find my beautiful new FIVE year old and tell her how much I love her!

Update.....Knee surgery went GREAT! Am surviving life on the couch tho' I'm bored out of my mine! Daytime TV is ridiculous. But I can hobble around the house without crutches and haven't had any major pain meds since Sunday! So now to get the quad muscle working again aka bending and I'll be good to go. But my knee modelling days are long gone for sure! As if they were even here? Who am I kidding :-) THANK YOU all for your notes and encouragement!

Tomorrow is the BIG day!!!!

Yes, Friday is the BIG day that I become BIONIC.....Well not quite as BIONIC as this picture but you get the idea! A new knee cap and surgery is what I have scheduled. So send me all the good vibes you have even if you're reading this way after cuz' recovery could be real FUN-NOT?!!!! 4-6 weeks on crutches need I say more? So my goal in recovery is to be ready for our Las Vegas trip the end of November. So bring on those good drugs and fix my knee so there is NO more pain!
