"Snow" in the living room?

This is what Kylie and Daddy did all day Saturday...they made snowflakes. Well Daddy cut them out and Kylie hung them around the living room for me to find. It was so cute...she even drew (her version of) a map to direct me to their locations.

This one is really big. Mark used drafting sheets and so the snowflake was like 24" across.

He was so proud...can you see the hearts and trees he cut out? Cool!

The Monkey Dance

Kylie has been begging me to record her now famous (only in her mind!) Monkey dance.
Oh to be 4 again :-) Hope you enjoyed it!
Oh and Momma's voice in the background......

Yes, out of the blue came this.....

Kylie: "Momma, why did God make you so tickly?"
Momma: "Tickly?"
Kylie: "Yes, tickly!"
Momma: "Kylie I'm not ticklish?"
Kylie: "Then how come you tickle me so much? See you ARE Tickly?"

Oooooh how I LOVE to tickle Kylie!

Look where we're going!

I've always wanted to go to Disney World at Christmas and this year we ARE (Dec. 2-7)! Some friends of mine who are planning a reunion trip with the families they adopted with in China so graciously invited us along. We all adopted from the same agency actually but we were a year ahead of them. One family lives in New Jersey (Dana, Shea and her "Wrangler" aka friend Lea) and another one is in of all places beautiful Joliet, MT. (Nancy and family) and one other family (sorry can't remember their names right now) live in Salt Lake City. So it's a mini A New Arrival reunion or sorts. So here's where were staying. (click on the word "here's") Kylie is so excited to see the "animals". She keeps informing me that she has never seen a giraffe (Hmmm wonder why? Maybe 'cuz there are no zoos in MT!). And then asks if there are real giraffes at Disney World? And I tell her they have EVERY animal imaginable. And she asks "even Crocodiles?" I know it's a long time away but I just had to share MY excitement. Kylie will be 5 and I know she will LOVE it as much as I do. Mark originally said "sure you two have a great trip" when I originally brought up the idea...but then I realized there was no way he could miss out on Kylie seeing Mickey and friends for the first time. A parent must see for sure. So sorry Mark, you're going along for the ride :-) So watch for more details to come. Right now I'm busy going to markets (1 down 2 more to go) and focusing on the upcoming buying season. Darn work it sure can get in the ways some days ;-)

So not only am I turning the BIG 4-0 I'm also going to Disney World....Yahoo!

Ever seen a Hat Parade?

Cousin Gracie gave me her old Easter bonnet.
"Look.... My old baby hat still fits!"
Kylie "made" aka painted the birdhouse at art camp this summer.
Again the old Happy Meal hat (and Tea blossom)...always a fave!

One final post to leave you with

Isn't this the coolest picture?
Not sure if it's a hoax but thought it was cool all the same.
Thanks Shannon for sending it to me!
So till I post again here's a smile just for YOU!

Headed here.....

Brother Mark and I are off on our annual buying trip to Denver. His only one and first of three for me (Denver, Seattle, Denver). It's not suppopse to be too nice. Cold and sunny. So we'll take a little sun if we can get it. We're going to the Nuggets vs. Orlando Magic game on Friday night. We're in the second row down by the basket where the visitors come out. Mark always stands up to "bump" the hands of the visitors as they come out. So watch for us :^)
Have a great rest of the week!

Catch me I'm falling?!

Hmmmm is this any way to sleep? Pretty good picture considering it was completely dark in her room. This is what we see on a nightly basis when we check on Kylie before we go to bed. The kid truly does "jog" in her sleep.

A post JUST for Kylie

My new favorite doll from McDonalds. "Tea Blossom" She even smells good. She's one of the characters from Strawberry Shortcake. A new favorite cartoon on Saturdays. I can't believe she's still around (Strawberry Shortcake that is). I watched her when I was a kid and we all know that was a LONG time ago! Tee Heee!
"Like my hat?" Yup, it's the Happy Meal box. A new fashion craze is about to begin I'm sure! Better go to McD.'s to get in on it.
"Whooooooaaaaaa, look at me on one foot!"
"Can you see me?"

Look what Momma got!

"Big girl" chest of drawers and an Armoire. No more "screw it yourself" junk furniture from the box stores for me. Don't get me wrong that stuff works just fine and our old one is going into Kylie's room but this is my first real furniture EVER. I love it! It took some serious shopping to find it but it works perfectly.

Kylie is playing "statue" for you in both pictures.

Can you say.......

I'm TIRED!
This is what we saw last night when we checked on Kylie. On her head is "Neigh Neigh" (1/2 of the dual Neigh Neigh Dog...Dog is laying to her right) And her beloved "Lammie" is sticking his "poe poe" in her face. I'm sure she crashed and all she could do was remove her "sucky" finger from her mouth. So everyone slept where they were. Too too funny! Playing at Nana's is tough work some days!

Tummy vs China

I thought I would share a conversation I had with Kylie the other morning....

Kylie: How come Nela (also from China) is shorter then me when we're the same age?
Momma: Because Kylie remember some people are taller and shorter then others. Like Auntie is shorter then Momma.
Kylie: Yes Momma, but Auntie is younger then you. (Gee thanks for pointing that out!)
Momma: Well Kylie when you're like 18-19 years old you'll be full grown and we will know how tall you're going to be.
Kylie: (Thinking about this) Oh then I'll be all grown up and can go to China and "get" TWO babies.
Momma: (Pondering this) Well yes Kylie you will be all grown up in SIZE but not in age yet. And you have to be at least 30 years old to go to China and "get" babies. Don't you want to have a tummy baby (what we call pregnancy).
Kylie: Nope! I'm going to China to get TWO baby girls (and you'll help me take care of them) and when they're all grown up Rachel and Megan (twins who are 3 mos old now) will be able to play with them.
Momma: Well Kylie what about a boy? Would you like a boy instead of a girl?
Kylie: Hmmmm...well maybe but I for sure want TWO girls from China.
Momma: Well first of all you will have to grow up and find a husband. Should Momma and Daddy find one for you?
Kylie: No, I can do it.

This has been a recurrent conversation...Tummy babies vs "going to China" And Kylie is adamant she IS GOING to China like Momma did. Only time will tell. But this will be a great story for her to read when she is old enough to have/get babies :-)
