Good idea

Today on our way home from church Kylie so matter of factly informed us..."I don't want to live in a house with wheels on it on the top of hill.  That would be scary!"

Hmmmm wonder where that came from? But we happily agreed with her.

Kids College Class 2

Ok, so I am throwing up my hands in defeat at trying to get this picture turned the right way....cock your head.  OY!  The last day of Art Around the World class and Kylie made a cat pinatta* this year.  She LOVES this class!
* Note from Kylie: " No, this will NOT be filled with candy.  It is to keep my Panda Bear company."  Panda was made last year.

Happy Father's Day Daddy

Daddy was just reflecting this morning how Kylie USE to think he smelled like a rose and thought he was a "GENIUS" but for some reason now she thinks it's funny to call him a "Weenie" and if he's really lucky a "Weenie Genius" *Insert giggling here*.  But never forget Daddy, Kylie will ALWAYS be YOUR little girl no matter what she calls you.  Hmmm except maybe the teenage years....those might be tough and yet interesting name calling days No weeks No  months or years Noooooo!?

But Pookie Mei aka Princess Puddin' Pop, Pookarella, Princess Pookie, Pookahontas, Angel Puddin', Princess Poopy Pants (see Daddy has LOTS of NICE names for you) and Mama BOTH
Love you LOTS and LOTS Daddy!

Cooking Class Days 3,4 and 5

Well so sorry to disappoint you all but no pictures from class or of Kylie's creations. Just internet pictures to make you drool a little.

Day 3 we made Creme Brulee and it had to chill for 4 hours so had to wait till the next day to enjoy (It was D-Lish!).  Then we made lemon ice cream on the stove (what a pain) but again it had to chill and we froze it the next day to enjoy.

Day 4 Nana took Kylie to class so Mama could work.  They froze the ice cream and then made pound cake with home made rhubarb/strawberry sauce.  So homemade pound cake, lemon ice cream and rhubarb/strawberry sauce was the treat of the day.

And Finally the last Day...Day 5 Daddy offered/volunteered to take Kylie to class. Needless to say Mama was THRILLED!  They were going to make quiche and some salad.  Good thing too since Mama is not an egg fan.  Daddy should like the quiche a whole lot more.

So overall I think Kylie liked the cooking class tho' it was a bit above her abilities (she was the youngest in the class at 7 1/2).  Mama LOVED it and hopefully we can go back next summer.
Mama learned LOTS.

Next week is Art Around the World.  Kylie is so excited and hopes they will make pinatas again.  She wants to make Lucky dog if they do.

Two thumbs up for sure!

Stay tuned tomorrow in cooking class we're making.....

Kylie: Daddy we're gonna make vanilla pudding with crunchy stuff on top.
Daddy: Huh?
Momma: That would be Creme Brulee Kylie.

Flag Day

A Day for celebrating AND remembrance. On this day 7 years ago I saw my beautiful daughter for the 1st time and  I became a Mom if only on paper aka "Kylie Day", a dear dear friend passed away who was a TRUE American R.I.P. Cal and of course God Bless America and our beautiful flag.
Happy Flag Day Everyone!

Kids College Day 1 Cooking Class

HOMEMADE: Pizza dough AND sauce with fresh mozzarella cheese and grated parmesan cheese.
Tried for fresh basil but the "chef" said "NO"
It was still D-LISH!
This picture is at the end of the day becasue we had it for dinner....it was FABULOUS right out of the oven.

HOMEMADE bread sticks. Best part of the class! Covered with Kosher salt and parmesan cheese. Yummy Yummy!

Tomorrow: Homemade pasta...stay tuned!
7 kids (7* "parents" and yes, *ONE Daddy and *ONE Gramma) in the class and I'd bet Kylie is the youngest.  Only downfall was she NEEDED her stool to see better.  Tomorrow will be better.

A TWO wheel riding Princess (and her King! aka Daddy)

Sunday, June 12, 2011

Milestone today...

It's OFFICIAL we have another two wheel rider at our house. Kylie has officially mastered riding her bike without training wheel AND with pedals*  She was so close and today mustered up enough balance with help from Daddy and rode up and down the sidewalks several times. Still has a bit of practice getting started and stopped BUT that too will come. YEA!
Pictures to come soon......

*Without pedals is a sure fire way to get your kiddo to learn how to balance and glide as  they learn how to ride without training wheels. A trick we HAPPILY love to tell other parents struggling with learning how to get rid of training wheels and move on.

New feeder and pets??

We put out a new bird feed and have successfully squirrel proofed it BUT now we have ALL these yellow birds eating out of it.  Mark has to refill it every other day. And NOW they also like to sit on the window sill and look in at us and "bonk" on the window....

End of school!

Kylie WAS a 1st grader until noon today. With Mrs. Rasmussen as her teacher.

But now she is a 2nd grader with Miss Steinbrenner next year.
