WoW! What a weekend!

We went to the play "Wicked" (FANTASTIC! GO SEE IT!),  we swam in the hotel pool, ate out and shopped (YEA! a new Webkinz AND Build a Bear).

Meet Daisy the newest Build a Bear.
Signature Endangered Species Iberian Lynx LimitedOur newest Webkinz Signature Lynx. Name ? I can't remember.  But Kylie paid for both of them.  Well Momma helped a little :-)

Best part of the weekend to a 7 1/2 year old...."Chuck E Cheeses!!" Reallllly? You're kidding me right? "NOPE!"

School field trip

First Grade field trip to Trinity Lutheran Camp.
Kylie is on the left in a yellow rain slicker.
When I asked her about the day she said "We went to this really big lake it was like an ocean. But we didn't get to see a bear like the pre-schoolers but we DID see a snake!"
"Aaaah, an ocean reeeeallly? That was Flathead Lake Kylie."
Best part of the trip?
"We got to bring home all the rocks we could carry in our pockets!"
Cool huh?!

Track 2011

Kylie and Grayce with their coaches.
Two REALLY cute 1st (almost 2nd) graders!
Proud tracksters!

* Thanks to Grayce's mom for sharing her pictures.  We didn't take any :-( *

So you think so?

"So Daddy will be walking you to school today."
"Why?"
"Because Mama has a Dr. appt. and I need to shower and get ready."
"Welllll good thing too...you don't want to be STINKY for the Dr. do you?"
Hmmmm somedays I just don't know how to reply.

Catching up a bit

Well to say the last  couple of weeks haven't been busy is an UNDERSTATEMENT!  And knowing summer is only a couple weeks away (School is out BUT not necessarily warm weather!) makes my head spin. Not because we can relax but knowing that it's ONLY 3 mos. and school will start up and off we go AGAIN!  So here's just a few things we've been up too.....
  1. School...yes, still have to read the allotted 1 hour/week, do one homework sheet AND spelling words.  Which by the way K has had PERFECT scores on EVERY spelling test this year. Only 1 more to go YEA!
  2. Track....we did this the whole month of May.  Practices 3x/week and 2 track meets.  Mama worked at both meets as a timer and even got Daddy to be the finish line ribbon holder at one meet (such an important job!)  1st Meet K did standing long jump (1st place!) and the 50m dash (Participant but pretty purple ribbon so win/win) 2nd Meet standing long jump (1st AGAIN) and I convinced her to try 100m dash.  Since EVERYONE at the meet does the 50.  She got 4th in the 100 so she was happy with the trade.  Thanks Nana and Papa for braving the chaos to come and "try" to see K participate.
  3. School track and field day. The day RIGHT after our last track meet.  So Mama opted out of helping here.  K had so much fun. All the Christian schools in the area participate.  The day was spectacular and there were some seriously tired kiddos that evening.  Don't quote me on places (she raced against ONLY other 1st graders) but K got 2nd in the long jump, 2nd in the relay, Participant in softball throw, 4th in the 3 legged race, 6th in the running dash and Participant in the sack races.
  4. Then after track and field day off to Gramma and Grandpa's for kids day.  Thank goodness Awana is over. Oh did I mention we had the award ceremony a week ago for that too?
  5. Oh and on Mother's Day was K's end of year piano recital too.
  6. Mday weekend Mama and another friend and her daughter are headed to Spokane to see the play  *Wicked*. I am so excited to get to a "big" city to eat, play and do a little shopping. K is more excited about going to "Chuck e Cheese" Yea!
  7. Church is tomorrow and we have nursery duty, pick up an elderly parishioner and deliver her to and from church AND Daddy has sound board.  Hope Pastor Chad can understand why I asked for a "pass" on teaching Sunday school this summer??
  8. K STILL has 2 more field trips and there is ONLY 8 1/2 days left of school.  She is going to Glacier Park and out to Trinity camp on Flathead Lake.
  9. Mama is still trying to organize K's class into some sort of end of year gift for her teacher.  I am also on the PTF (used to be PTA) and we're planning an end of year treat for all the kids so my freezer is FULL of Popsicles.  I bought 'em all and now am trying to wrangle 4 different delivery times to get all the kids fed.  I'm dreaming about the dang things now!
You'll understand why I'm tired.  Add in allergy season and a snoring husband = not sleeping well either!  So tonight Mama and a friend are headed out for a BIG girls dinner and catch up evening.  K is so excited for a Daddy night!

Now to even think about summer.  It's ONLY like 12 weeks long (or so) and we have K booked into camps/classes for 4 of those, add in the week of Fair, misc. camping trips (Hiawatha trail and a family hoorah at the lodge), trip to Silverwood to use K's free pass she got for reading at school, and then trying to squeeze in some work for Mama.  Bring on the Tourists!

Well it's NOW 7:45AM and I've been up for an hour and Miss K has decided to join me.
Happy Saturday to you all!

PS. Do you know what K says when we asked her last night "Does the world revolve around you Miss?" And she said "Why,YES! It does Mama!"

Thank you Kylie

Dear Kylie Mei aka Kylie Tootie Mei :-)

Well another year and I'm still your mom. I want to tell you have much I have loved you this past year and am THANKFUL you are my daughter and that YOU make me a mom.  I know we have never had a "real" talk about your Chinese mom and I know that day will come. So for now you are ALL mine.  I look at you and wonder what your Chinese mom is thinking about you. Don't know if they have Mother's Day in China or not?  I know she loves you and is thankful you have two loving parents who would do anything for you.  To see you grow into a little girl has been nothing but amazing.  1st grade what year of change... you can read almost everything put in front of you, you spell like a master (ALL 100's so far this year on your tests), you are becoming quite the pianist, you are learning to ride your bike without training wheels, you are slowly but surely getting away from STINKY ol' lammie and and and...I can go on and on and on because I am your proud proud Mama.  Barely a day goes by that somebody doesn't tell me what nice and polite little girl we have. And all I can do is smile and say thank you but in my head I say YES I KNOW!  So know I am and will always be proud that you call me Mama.  And that I LOVE you more then more and even the most cuz' that's what Mama's do.

Happy Mother's Day to my one and only, perfect in almost everyway, adorable little "Chinese skunk frog" daughter (sorry Nana!).
